The waves of iPhones started Monday, as customers report tracking numbers.

Both AT&T and Apple pre-order customers are starting to get tracking information on their iPhones. iPhone orders are originating from China. Apple and AT&T have promised delivery by the 19th, the official iPhone launch date. The reports we've seen appear to all use UPS, although multiple carriers may be used.

As Apple coordinates a simultaneous retail and mail order launch, it will be interesting to see events this week play out. While it may take until Friday for delivery overseas and through customs, or UPS may hold packages, or perhaps some may show up early.
