Apple has circulated an email stating it will lock down its HomePage created content on the old .Mac system. MobileMe replaced .Mac as Apple's customer cloud service.

The announcement states that MobileMe customers won't be able to create or edit pages after the cut off. The cut off is slated for July 7. 2009. While the announcement results in a lock down on new content and content editing, Apple pledges to keep content online for as long as customers remain with MobileMe. The move appears to be an effort to end support for HomePage utility, and perhaps to phase out the .Mac system all together.

Apple recommends users who wish to continue editing webpages to utilize MobileMe's photo Galleries and use Apple's iWeb application for creating and posting pages to MobileMe.
