Apple reportedly hires Lamborghini exec

Bloomberg:

The company hired Luigi Taraborrelli, a 20-year veteran of the Italian carmaker, to help lead the design of Apple's future vehicle, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the matter isn't public. Taraborrelli was most recently Lamborghini's head of chassis and vehicle dynamics.

This seems noteworthy high-profile hire related to vehicle design. Apple is closing in on a decade of development of a rumored car, with not much to show for it. Bloomberg speculates Apple may be targeting 2025 for a product announcement.

While its vehicle ambitions appear to have been troubled over the years, Apple continues to invest in its CarPlay in-dash technology. CarPlay is vehicle agnostic, similar to how Apple got into living rooms without selling TVs. This news seems to suggest Apple is indeed still interesting in designing cars and not just dashboard tech. Bloomberg notes his Taraborrelli's LinkedIn profile indicates he was responsible for work on handling, suspension, steering, brakes, and rims.
