tvOS 13 introduces redesigned Apple TV approach

With tvOS 13, Apple TV 4K gains an immersive new Home screen; multi-user support for customers to access their own TV shows, movies, music and recommendations; support for Apple Arcade; expanded game controller support; and new 4K HDR screen savers filmed under the sea.

Multi-user support should be pretty compelling for families in particular. Kids and adults programs won't be co-mingled in the up next and it should also provide better suggestions for individuals. One my gripes with Apple Music on the Apple TV is everything flowed through a single login. Now too, household members can have their own profiles. Apple arcade is also coming to the Apple TV, which allows for gaming across Apple's platforms.

Interestingly, Apple is now supporting Xbox One S and PlayStation DualShock 4 controllers, which if you already have one of these game systems means you won't have to purchase a dedicated controller for the similar gaming experience.

tvOS 13 is available today as a developer preview with a public beta coming later in June. The full release is expected in the fall.
