Apple buys Magazine service Texture

Apple Statement via Ars Technica:

We're excited Texture will join Apple, along with an impressive catalog of magazines from many of the world's leading publishers. We are committed to quality journalism from trusted sources and allowing magazines to keep producing beautifully designed and engaging stories for users.

Not much of a hint of Apple's plans, but apparently Apple intends to incorporate Texture services into the News app. Apple already offers an impressive listing of magazines and newspaper through various apps. Apple shifted its focus from managing magazine subscriptions when it retooled Newsstand for its current News app. Perhaps Apple is looking to get back into magazine subscriptions or more about generally enhancing News.
